Jazz bar on Wilcza Street

Warsaw, Poland, 2020

The Jazz Bar project is based on the idea of interpreting music through space – so that it can be felt from the moment you enter, even before the first notes are played. The interior is not just a backdrop for concerts, but a spatial complement to them – a visual echo of rhythm, improvisation, and pulsating bass.

The main inspiration was movement in its various forms: the undulation of fabric, the vibration of air, the fluidity of the body in dance. Movement and music are connected by tempo – variable, unpredictable, building tension. This was translated into a light material suspended on a steel structure. The sculpturally arranged form resembles a frozen wave floating above the space. The whole is kept in a dark, saturated color palette – deep blacks, graphites, and anthracites. This color scheme creates an atmosphere of intimacy and focus, while emphasizing the expressiveness of the sculptural form. The dark background allows light to play a key role in the composition. The atmosphere of the interior is dense, sensual, and multi-layered. The dim lighting is conducive to focusing on music, conversation, and emotions.
